About Me

Hi i'm Janaya, from Janaya Lea Photography and Birth Stories. I'm a mum to 3 children 15, 11 and 2. Lover of yoga, travelling, bush walking and gardening. I live in Narara on the central coast. I Started Birth Photography because Meeting your baby for the first time is one of the most important days of your life. When I had my third baby I felt a need for change in my life having worked in Early Childhood Education for 16 years. I had 3 great births and welcomed healthy babies each with limited pictures to remember them by, It was great to have them, but they reminded me of how I felt the moment I met my babies. I had seen more and more images of birth and I decided I wanted to give it a go. So I enrolled in the birth becomes her course and began to build a business, I took it to social media and posted in a few groups to see if anyone would like like their birth recorded. 3 months later I was called in the middle of the night for my 1st birth. I was hooked from that day forward and it’s absolutely a honour to be present at such an important moment in people's lives and capture these images. Having a birth photographer present for your labour and delivery will help capture those precious moments of your baby’s entry into the world. From there i began to do all kinds of shoots including maternity, newborn and family sessions, for me its really about capturing those precious memories as they say "you wont believe how fast they grow" and its so true. Janaya Lea Photography and Birth Stories is a registered and insured business. I am fully immunised, have my senior first aid certificate and a working with children's check and I have a Diploma in children's services.
